Helen Killmier established Guidestar in 2017, bringing over 25 years of experience as a psychologist to her practice. With a background in executive management and as a clinician, her expertise spans various sectors, including mental health, disability, homelessness, alcohol and other drugs, justice, and local government. She is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society, a Psychology Board of Australia approved Supervisor and is the Chair of Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA) the peak professional Association for Creative Arts Therapies in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Having extensive experience in disability and dual diagnosis, Helen has a deep understanding of these areas and is skilled in helping neurodiverse individuals and families navigate challenges associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other developmental differences. Her therapeutic practice encompasses a variety of approaches, including:
