For parents, grandparents and caregivers.
Developing and delivering structured, therapist-led group sessions to foster capacity building skills and emotional support among participants facing similar challenges.
Our group programs are facilitated by our experienced psychologists, who provide a safe and supportive environment for participants to learn and grow. These programs are designed to be engaging, interactive, and effective, helping participants build essential skills and strategies for life. They can be administered in a standardised fashion or customised in collaboration with school staff, parents, or community groups.
We offer universal group programs such as Tuning into Kids and Tuning into Teens and have developed programs specifically designed for parents of neurodivergent children and teens, which will commence in term 3 2026.
Group sessions may be rebated under a Mental Health Care plan, these sessions are counted separately from individual therapy sessions and do not reduce the number of individual sessions available to you. If you have NDIS funding, you may be able to utilise this to fund the cost of the group.
Guidestar will conduct brief pre and post assessments for each program. Parents will be offered a free 15 minute session (via phone or zoom) to discuss their situation and needs prior to program commencement to ensure the program will be of benefit to them and to discuss how to access Medicare rebates.
Groups will be conducted on-line.
