Everyday FeelingsTM
Supporting Emotion Regulation in Neurodivergent Kids and Teens.
Guidestar Psychology has extensive experience supporting autistic and neurodivergent children and adolescents through working directly with them in therapy as well as with the people who know them best — their parents and carers.
Our Everyday FeelingsTM programs are strengths-based and designed for parents of primary and secondary school–aged children with autism, ADHD, and other developmental differences.
The program helps parents understand their child’s neurodevelopment, sensory needs, and strengths, support emotional regulation, and respond to behaviour through a compassionate, neurodiversity‑affirming lens. Across six weeks, parents learn practical skills including emotion coaching, co‑regulation, understanding behaviour as communication, structured problem‑solving, and working collaboratively with schools and professionals.
The Everyday FeelingsTM programs aim to support parental wellbeing by exploring stress, coping strategies, and sustainable habits that protect mental health.
It offers tools to help you feel more confident, stay calm in difficult moments, understand your child’s needs, and value their unique strengths. It also provides space to reflect on your own wellbeing as you navigate therapies, advocacy, and the everyday realities of neurodivergent parenting.
Everyday FeelingsTM can help parents. It’s not a magic fix, but it offers tools to help you handle difficult moments, feel more confident, respond calmly and value the uniqueness of your child/young person. It can also help you look after your mental health as you navigate the different therapies and advocacy involved with raising a child with neurodevelopmental difference.
